Target 2009-2010 Fall/Winter Survey Sweepstakes


  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE CHANCES OF WINNING.
  2. ELIGIBILITY: OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES OR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WHO ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, AS OF DATE OF ENTRY. Employees, officers and directors of Target Corporation (“Sponsor”), its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies, advertising, promotion, or production agencies, web masters/suppliers, and any other coordinating agencies involved in the development, implementation, and distribution of the sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) (and their IRS dependents, immediate family members [spouse, parents, children, siblings] and individuals residing in their same household, whether or not related), are not eligible to participate. By participating, entrants (and entrant’s parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor) agree to these Official Rules. Void where prohibited.
  3. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Central Time (CT) on 10/1/09 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on 1/31/10 (the “Promotional Period”). A month in the Promotional Period (“Month”) begins at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) CT on the first calendar day of a Month and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on the last calendar day of the same Month.
  4. TO ENTER: There are two ways to enter.

    A). To Enter With User ID And Password From Cash Register Receipt: During the Promotional Period, some cash register receipts issued at participating Target Stores will contain a user ID and password. The cash register receipt will direct you to visit www.target.com/survey. When the page is accessed, click on the language link that you want to take the survey (English or Spanish) and follow the online instructions to enter the ID and password. (The user ID and password must be entered exactly as they appear on the cash register receipt). When you properly enter the user ID and password follow the instructions to access the online survey and entry page. Each user ID and password can only be used once. When user ID and password have been successfully entered and accepted, entrant will be required to verify he or she is 18 years of age or older before being allowed to complete the online survey questions. Upon completion of the survey, he or she will be required to enter the following information: daytime phone number and/or email address. Answers to the survey will not affect entrants' ability to participate or win. Once a user ID and password is properly entered, the survey completed and your registration information is completed and submitted as directed by the online instructions, you will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes for the Month in which you have completed and submitted the above. Entries received via the Internet must be received and recorded by Sponsor’s computer between 12.00 a.m. (midnight) CT on the first day of a Month and 11:59:59 p.m. CT on the last day of the same Month, to be included in the drawing for that Month. KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL CASH REGISTER RECEIPT WITH USER ID AND PASSWORD FOR VERIFICATION PURPOSES.

    B). To Enter Without Purchase: Hand print your complete name, address, daytime phone, email address (if available), and date of birth on a 3" x 5" card and mail your entry in a first class stamped envelope to: Target 2009-2010 Fall/Winter Survey Sweepstakes Entry, P.O. Box 1032, Young America, MN 55594-1032. Entries received via the mail must be postmarked between the first day of a Month and by the first day of the following month (unless that day is a weekend or postal holiday in which case it must be postmarked by the first postal service day thereafter), and received by the 10th day of that following month in order to be included in the previous Month’s drawing (and if not, it will be entered into the next Month’s drawing, if any).


    Limit one (1) Sweepstakes entry per person/address/email address/Month no matter what method of entry is used. No mechanically reproduced or photocopied entries permitted. Any entries received from any person/address/email address/month in excess of the limit stated will void the excess entries for that person/address/email address/Month. No other method of entry or participation is valid. Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for this Sweepstakes for entries via the Internet. Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  5. DRAWING: Winners will be selected in random drawings held on/about the 11th day of the month, following the Month for which entry is sought, from all eligible entries received for that drawing by an independent judging agency, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Winners will be notified by phone or email on/ about the 15th day of the month, following the Month for which entry was sought. Entries for any Month’s drawing will not be carried forward to subsequent drawings. No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of prize, but Sponsor reserves right to substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize becomes unavailable. If a winner is an eligible minor at the time of entry in his/her jurisdiction of residence, prize may be awarded in the name of, or to, winner’s parent/legal guardian who must execute all documents and agree to all obligations and undertakings of winner, both on behalf of himself/herself and winner, or prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Limit one (1) prize per person/address/email address for the entire Promotional Period.
  6. PRIZE/ODDS: Grand Prize (4, 1 per month): a $5,000 Target GiftCard. Retail Value $5,000. GiftCard may be redeemed at any Target retail location or at Target.com. GiftCard can only be used for future purchases at Target retail locations or for online purchases at Target.com but CANNOT be used to pay already established credit balances. GiftCard may be used to pay online shipping charges, gift wrap, and/or taxes on purchases; and any remaining balance after any use will remain on the GiftCard. Expenses not stated are solely the winner’s responsibility. If a winner cannot accept prize in accordance with these Official Rules as stated herein, prize will be forfeited in its entirety and an alternate winner will be chosen. Odds of winning for any Month are dependent on number of eligible entries received for that Month. All prizes will be awarded provided a sufficient number of eligible entries are received. Total Retail Value all prizes $20,000.
  7. General Conditions: Participants (and participant’s parent/legal guardian, if participant is a Minor) agree (a) that Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents are released, will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by participants (and a participant’s parent/legal guardian, if participant is a Minor) against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to person(s), including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in this Sweepstakes or any Sweepstakes related activities and (b) except where legally prohibited, winners (and winner’s parent/legal guardian, if winner is Minor) grant (and agree to confirm that grant in writing) permission to Sponsor and those acting under its authority the right to the use of his/her name, picture, likeness, voice, biographical information and statements, at any time or times, for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval. Winners (or winner’s parent or legal guardian if winner is a Minor) will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and where lawful a Publicity Release within seven (7) days of notification. If documents and/or requested information is not returned timely, or if a prize notification or prize is returned as non-deliverable, or if a winner is found to be ineligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Taxes on prize are solely winners’ responsibility. The entry information provided is subject to the Privacy Policy on the above stated website.     Sponsor reserves the right to request that any participant forward the original cash register receipt with the original user ID and Password. Failure to comply with this request within the time stated in the request may cause disqualification. The cash register receipt may be reviewed for authenticity. All submitted materials become property of Sponsor, and will not be returned. Cash register receipts containing user IDs and passwords, and user IDs and passwords themselves will be void if they contain printing or other mechanical errors or are printed or produced in error or are otherwise irregular, or are not obtained through authorized, legitimate channels, or if any part is defective, illegible, altered, duplicated, photocopied, reproduced, forged, counterfeited, defaced, mutilated or tampered with in any way, or if they contain, or are the result of, printing, seeding, typographical, digital, electronic, mechanical or other errors. Sole liability for any cash register receipt, user IDs and passwords, containing printing or other irregularities and/or errors, or which reveal an illegible or unreadable user ID and password (which is not void) is limited to replacement with a free randomly selected user ID and password, while supplies last. Cash register receipts containing user IDs and Passwords, and user IDs and passwords themselves, have no cash value, cannot be traded, sold, or bartered, and can only be used in a manner consistent with these Official Rules.
  8. Liability Limitations: The Sponsor, and its respective agencies are not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, incomplete, postage due or non-delivered mail, entries or email; or for interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, telephone or other connections, availability or accessibility, or miscommunications, or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, or lines, or technical failure or jumbled, corrupted, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures, or technical errors or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of user ID/pass word or entry or other information or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of this Sweepstakes, as solely determined by the Sponsor, will be disqualified. Any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed or like entry methods will void all such entries by such methods, and disqualify any entrant using such methods. Neither Sponsor nor its respective agencies are responsible for injury or damage to participant’s or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading materials from or use of the website. Should any portion of the Sweepstakes be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, technical failures or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes, and select the winners from entries received prior to action taken or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by the Sponsor. Neither Sponsor nor its respective agencies are responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes, and assume no responsibility for any error, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, or unauthorized use to this website. In case of dispute, the authorized subscriber of the email account used to enter the Sweepstakes at the actual time of entry will be deemed to be the participant, and must comply with these Official Rules. The authorized account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet Access Provider, on-line service provider, or other organization which is responsible for assigning email addresses. IN NO EVENT WILL SPONSOR, ITS RESPECTIVE PARENTS, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES AND RELATED COMPANIES, THEIR RESPECTIVE ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION AGENCIES OR ANY OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE WEBSITE OR DOWNLOADING FROM AND/OR PRINTING MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM SAID WEBSITE. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING ON THIS WEBSITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.   9. WINNERS LIST: For the names of the winners, write your name and complete address on a 3”x5” card and mail in a first class, stamped envelope to: Target 2009-2010 Fall/Winter Survey Sweepstakes Winners List, Dept 4161-7063, P.O. Box 750093, El Paso, TX 88575-0093 for receipt by 2/28/10.
